Emily Durgin and Wesley Kiptoo are among the Americans announced for the November 8 Boston Half. The Boston Athletic Association published its professional-field announcement on October 14; the race is still ahead.

Americans in the announced field

Durgin has the fastest listed U.S. women’s half-marathon best. Selected American entries and their listed personal bests are:

Athlete Division Half-marathon best
Emily Durgin Women’s open 1:07:54
Megan Sailor Women’s open 1:09:39
Wesley Kiptoo Men’s open 1:00:34
Ethan Shuley Men’s open 1:01:02

Sydney Vaught is listed for a half-marathon debut.

Defending women’s champion Fentaye Belayneh and 2023 men’s winner Abel Kipchumba also return.

Returning U.S. wheelchair champions

The announcement includes Daniel Romanchuk, Miguel Jimenez-Vergara, Yen Hoang and Michelle Wheeler. Jimenez-Vergara and Hoang won the 2025 wheelchair races.

These are announced entries, not confirmed starts or results. The October 14 release contains the full roster; subsequent withdrawals or additions may change it.

Course and competition details

The official course page describes a rolling route through the Emerald Necklace parks, starting and finishing in Franklin Park. Runners planning their own race can use its map and aid-station information: water begins around mile 2, with sports drink at miles 6, 9 and 11.1.

The professional-program rules list equal men’s and women’s prize schedules: $15,000 for each open winner and $5,000 for each wheelchair winner. Prize standings use gun times; open athletes must start in the professional starts to receive open-division prize money. Those rules are context, not a newly announced prize increase.
